LRBC Show 2001
It's almost upon us! That once a year event is right around the corner and is shaping up to be another winner. All of the tables were sold within a couple of weeks after the contracts went out and I know of several people who ALWAYS set up who weren't able to get in this year. This is disappointing to those who didn't get a table but good for the club as it shows we put on a popular event.
Some of the show duties changed hands this year so we'll see if the changes are beneficial to an already successful event. Click on the following hyperlink to the show page for more information. LRBC Bottle Show & Sale

RI Bitters sells for $2400+ on eBay
In November a mint example of iRI-005 (RI-005) - DAVID ANDREWS' / VEGETABLE / JAUNDICE / BITTERS / PROVIDENCE R.I. was sold on the online auction site, eBay. The final price? How about $2426.00. Not too shabby for a bottle that ten years ago was bringing $400-500. The open pontil, tombstone shape bottle was purchased by Rhode Island collector Gary Mantoosh. Gary is on a mission to bring as many good RI bottles back to our state and to keep them here and in doing so is amassing one heck of a great RI collection.
This bottle is the same one that was auctioned off earlier this year from the Burton Spiller collection. It brought an even $2300.00 then and is reputed to be one of the nicer examples known.
Congratulations to Gary for acquiring this great RI bitters!

Online Book
As reported last month, the online book has been updated and permanent numbers have been assigned to all of the listed bottles. The new numbers are different from the original ones in the printed book as they begin with the letter "i". The "i" is for Internet and reflects the assignment in the online book. If the bottle was listed in the original printed book then that number is also included along with the new number. The number from the printed book will be in parenthesis and can be used as a cross reference for someone without Internet access.
Hop on over to the book site to check it out!
