COLALUCA BROS. BOTTLING CO. 1906: Michele Colaluca was working at the U.S.Bottling Company in Providence, while brothers Massimo and Dante were listed as peddlers and teamsters. 1908: Michele was at Colaluca Brothers at the junction of Douglas and Veazie Sts. 1910: The Colaluca Bottlers were listed as liquor distributors located at 336-1/2 Douglas Ave. 1912: Dante and Michele were at Colaluca Bros. at 378 Admiral St. 1914: The Colaluca Bros. Bottling Company was at 378 Admiral St. and the brothers were Massimo and Dante. Michele had formed a company called Colaluca & Campanelli, liquor distributors located at 612 Charles St.. Massimo & Dante remained bottlers while Colaluca & Campanelli were retail liquor purveyors. 1916: Massimo and Dante became wholesale liquor bottlers and distributors and macaroni manufacturers while Michele remained at Colaluca & Campanelli. 1918: Colaluca Brothers, Dante and Massimo, continued as liquor distributors at 374 Admiral St. However, Dante also formed a partnership with Antonio Strongale at 396 South Main St; and Michele was engaged in the Ricci & Colaluca Company, liquor distributors at 584 Douglas Ave. None of the Colalucas were listed as bottlers at that time. 1920 - 1922: Michele was listed as a bottler for soft drinks. As far as I can tell, Dante and Massimo were still liquor distributors at 374 Admiral. 1924: The Colaluca Bottling Company was still located at 374 Admiral St. and Michele was still bottling soft drinks, only now at 584 Douglas Ave. Dante, Michele, and another brother, Camillo, all resided at 582 Douglas Ave. 1926: Colaluca Brothers moved to 79 Coggeshall St. Camillo, Michele and Michele Jr. lived at the Douglas Ave. address and had branched out into cigars. Dante was working at a garage at 91 Webster Ave. And living at 387 Plainfield. St. {Until now, all the addresses have been in the North End of Providence which was a predominantly Italian neighborhood. Dante’s relocation puts him in the West End.} 1929: The Colaluca Bottling Company was still on Coggeshall St. However, this was the first time that the wives' names were included in the listing. So, Massimino (Nicolina) Colaluca and Dante (Concetta) Colaluca were at the Coggeshall address; Camillo (Jennie) was a clerk at 391 Douglas Avenue and living at 294 Branch Avenue. Massimino had really branched out. In addition to the Colaluca Bottling Co., he was also listed as working at Eagle Supply at 575 Douglas Ave, and probably had an interest in the Turks Head Laundry on Harold St. in the Valley section. He also held position as vice president of the Guaranty Loan at 589 Charles St, while living at 350 Admiral St. Michele (Ersilia) is listed solely as living at 582 Douglas Avenue. Michele Jr. (Josephine) was a laborer living at 60 Hassan St. 1938: Albert Colaluca had joined the Bottling Company as a principal; Camilllo now worked as a dairyman and lived at 83 Commodore St.. Dante was a laundryman and Massimino was the manager of the bottling company. 1940: Albert became principal of the bottling company and changed the name to the Brownie Bottling Company, thus ending the Colaluca Bottling Company.
