George P. Harvey

George P. Harvey left Harvey & Co. (Ira Harvey) circa 1867, and along with J. W. Harvey opened Geo. P. Harvey & Co. at the rear of 14 Bath Road in Newport. They were bottlers of ale, porter, cider, and sodas and were in business for ten years, closing in 1877.

Sometime before 1870, George came to Providence and was also manufacturing soda at 22-24 Peck Street. He was residing at 204 Pine Street.

Around 1878, he succeeded Wallace W. Boynton & Co. in Providence, and was wholesaling and retailing wines, brandies, whiskies, etc., while still producing soda waters, sarsaparilla, cider, etc. A couple of years later he was succeeded by Ransford H. Harvey at the same address, and he then became foreman for this company. At this time, George was residing in Norwich, Connecticut.

Ransford Harvey went out of business in 1888.
