The B. H. R. Distilling Co.
were manufacturers of whiskey located at the corner
of Charlton Avenue and Beverage Hill Road in
Pawtucket. (Note that BHR stands for Beverage Hill
Road.) They were only in operation for two years,
from 1895 to 1897.
In 1896, Edward R. Dawley,
treasurer of Hunt's Remedy Company, 451 South Main
Street, Providence, also became treasurer of the
HEATHER BLOSSOM WHISKEY division of BHR with John
C. Knight as manager.
In 1897, Knight left Heather
Blossom and became a salesman for an unknown
company. Shortly after, Dawley also quit the
distillery but remained with the Hunt's Remedy
Co.
It is of interest to note
that while the actual distillery was located in
Pawtucket, the address listed for Dawley, Knight,
and the Heather Blossom division was the same as
the Hunt's Remedy Co.
